NPP Will Accept Asiedu Nketia Instead Of Kwabena Agyapong – Chairman Wontumi

The Ashanti regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi-Boasiako has rubbished calls for the reinstatement of  Mr Kwabena Agyapong.

There have been incessant calls in recent times from some party supporters for the reinstatement of Mr Kwabena Agyapong  since according to them his suspension has elapsed.

The group contend that the duration of his suspension which was for a period of 15 months has elapsed and so he should be recalled to occupy his position.

The group adds that Kwabena is an asset and a pillar of the party whose contribution to the party in the past is not in doubt

But Chairman Wontumi as he is affectionately called reacting to those calls said such calls as needless and should not be tolerated by leadership as it has the propensity of destroying the front of the party.

Speaking on Asempa FM on Monday afternoon, the firebrand party chairman said Kwabena Agyapong has lost his relevance in the NPP as his actions and in-actions prior to the 2016 elections contributed to his own predicament.

“How can we allow someone who never wanted us to win an election take up a position.”

According to him, the party will be prepared to embrace NDC’s chief scribe, Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia into their fold rather than their own Mr Kwabena Agyapong.

Meanwhile, one of the petitioners who petitioned for the  suspension of Kwabena Agyapong, Kwame Bafo aka Abronye DC has said only the second coming of Christ can bring him back to his position.

Mr Kwabena Agyapong, Sammy Crabbe and Mr Paul Afoko were suspended indefinitely in 2015 by the National Executive Committee (NEC) acting on the recommendation of the Disciplinary Committee.
