Playing Oware and Ludo Are To Keep Firemen Awake, Billy Anaglate Tells Critics

The Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service, Mr Prince Billy Anaglate has come to the defence of fire personnel following series of bashing from the public.

The general public have been on the nerves of the Ghana National Fire Service chastising them over their lackadaisical and poor respond to disasters.

The Greater Regional Organizer for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Anthony Nukpenu in the wake of the Atomic Junction gas explosion for instance accused fire personnel of playing Oware, Ludo and Draught instead of focusing on their work.

He alleged that this practice can be attributed to inadequate resources available to them to effectively combat fire outbreaks.

But Prince Billy Anaglate in response to the claim by the NDC politician has refuted the claim saying the practice does break any law as it is a standard practice in all parts of the world to keep firemen awake.

According to him, although there are improved practices to keep personnel awake when on duty in advanced countries, Ghana is yet to get to that level.
