The legislator, a former a hairdresser who has always been a subject of ridicule from a section of the public following her inability to speak the English Language fluently defied all odds and gave a speech.
She said the new management of Ghana Consolidated Diamond Limited is not living up to its of promise of creating 25,000 direct jobs and 50,000 indirect jobs for support services.
“Mr Speaker, the GCDGL said it intended to establish integrated diamond mining and processing industry with the main objective of turning around the fortunes of the company to create 2,500 direct jobs and 50,000 indirect jobs.
Expressing her worry on the activities of the company so far, she decried the manner in which management is currently running the facility.
“Mr Speaker, the new company has, since its beginning done no mining. Its interest has only been putting together parts of plant and machinery and selling them as scraps.”
