Businessman, Alfred Agbesi Woyome has responded to the ruling of the Court of Appeal earlier today.
An elated Mr. Woyome who was not present in court when the court gave the ruling quickly took to social media to express his sentiments.
In a Facebook post, the embattled businessman wrote: “Unanimous decision today by the court of appeal to set aside the sole commissioner’s findings against my person and same should be expunged from the government’s white paper. Thanks be to God.”
The Court of Appeal today, Thursday, 8 March quashed the findings by the Judgment Debt Commission against Alfred Agbesi Woyome .
The Justice Yaw Appau Commission concluded that the GHS51.3million judgement debt paid to Mr Woyome was illegal, a recommendation that prompted the business to file an appeal.
But after years of back and forth, the court today ruled that the Sole Commissioner was not fair to Mr. Woyome.
It concluded that the Commission breached the rules of natural justice by not allowing Mr Woyome to appear before the commission.
The court also ruled that the findings of the Sole Commissioner in relation to Mr Woyome be expunged from the whitepaper.
