As was predicted by many pundits, Sammy Gyamfi has beaten Fred Agbenyo to the position of Communications Director.

According to provisional results, Sammy Gyamfi secured 6225 votes to beat his closest contender, Fred Agbenyo who managed only 2069 votes.

A former student activist, the young lawyer is expected to inject some sense of urgency and dynamism to the communications machinery of the National Democratic Congress(NDC).

Blessed with strong communications skills, it is believed that his past role as spokesperson for former Kumasi Mayor, Kojo Bonsu will come in handy.

He was President of the Tertiary Education Institutions Network(TEIN) of the NDC at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) from 2011 to 2012.

In other results, Kwaku Boahen and Godwin Ako Gunn have been elected as the Deputy Communications officers of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

They secured 2847 and 1816 respectively.
