The Member of Parliament for the Nadowli Kaleo constituency, Honourable Alban Kingsford Sumani Bagbin has revealed that he is prepared to fight the party’s filing fee to the wire.Mr. Bagbin, a flag-bearer hopeful of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) is part of a gang of other members who are against the “outrageous” amount.According to the honorable member, the whole process is a “nullity” and he cannot allow such an illegality to go unaddressed.Speaking on Eyewitness News on Accra-based Citi FM, he revealed that he together with other flagbearer hopefuls have resolved not to pick the forms until the right thing is done.According to him, they have petitioned the council elders and they are hopeful of a review of the amount.Asked by the host how far he is willing to fight for the right to be done, Mr. Bagbin answered “as far as the law permits.”Describing the whole process as “null and void”, he told the host that the entire process is at variance with the constitution of the party.“Well We have submitted a petition to the Council of Elders through the Chair of the council the founding father of the party His Excellency Jerry John Rawlings and we ‘ve raised very serious issues that have to be considered before we think of picking the forms.“Well we think the whole process is a nullity, it is completely at variance with our own constitution.
