The Atebubu Traditional Council on Friday, March 29, 2019, placed a fine on one of its chiefs, Nana Appiah Gyan.
The fine follows financial support he allegedly solicited from the former Member of Parliament for the Atebubu Amantin Constituency, Honourable Sanja Nanja.
The chief reportedly went for an amount of Gh₵1000 from the legislator on behalf of the Queen-mother of the Atebubu Traditional Council, Nana Afia Doyina II.
Nana Appiah Gyan who is the linguist for the Atebubu Traditional Council was subsequently hauled before the Traditional Council on 22nd March 2019 to answer questions but he denied the charges.
The case was therefore adjourned to 29th March 2019 but Nana Appiah Gyan changed his plea and remorsefully asked for forgiveness at the second hearing,
He was therefore found guilty of misconduct by the council and asked to pacify the council with one sheep.
The council also asked him to cause for an announcement to be made to the effect that he did not act at the behest of the queen-mother.
