The dream of music loving fans of seeing sensational music duo, Okyeame Quofi and Okyeame Kwame formerly of Akyeame fame together again seems to be a mirage.
After splitting for almost 15-years now, it has been the hope of their fans that the pair will one day rekindle the group but that dream has been shattered.
Okyeame Kwame, one of the members of the group and undoubtedly one of Ghana’s best hiplife artistes has revealed that that dream cannot materialise.
According to him, even though he achieved a lot in the music industry as a result of the Akyeame group, he has moved on since they separated.
Speaking on Music Plus with Mr. Bonez, the Rap Doctor as Kwame is affectionately called revealed that he has no “beef” with his former partner as has been widely speculated.
He told Mr. Bonez that whilst he is busily promoting his projects, Okyeame Quofi is equally engaged in different projects.
He revealed that coming out with an Album as a group is impossible due to the nature of their projects.
He revealed that he is in constant communication with Okyeame Quofi and will gladly release a single with him if that is what their fans want.
Akyeame hit the Ghanaian music scene in 1999 and released ‘Nkonsonkonson’ which had the hit track ‘Mesan Aba’ featuring Yoggi Doggi and Nana Quame.
They went on to record the ‘Nyansapo’, ‘Ntoaso’ and ‘Apam Foforo’ albums before splitting in 2004.
