On Wednesday, August 21, 2019, Manasseh Awuni Azure, a freelance investigative journalist, released a video showing how Talent Discovery Limited, a company incorporated in June 2017, won a number of government contracts through restrictive tendering.

The documentary confirmed that the company was engaged in selling of  contracts as the General Manager of the Company, Thomas Amoah, was captured on video revealing that the company was selling a ¢22.3 million road contract to K-Drah Enterprise, a fake company Manasseh used for the investigation.

This contract was awarded to B-Molie Limited, a company Mr Amoah said was a sister company of TDL.

The company also had for sale a Ministries of Works and Housing contract to construct a concrete drain in Santa Maria in Accra as well as a contract to build a one-story dormitory block in the Asante Akim North District.

After demanding and taking a registration fee of ¢5000 and deposit from Manasseh’s undercover agent, the General Manager of the TDL, who is also the one who signs the contracts on behalf of the company handed over three contracts, when K-Drah Enterprise promised to come on a particular Thursday and pay for one of the projects.

The content of the video has forced the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to suspend from office, with immediate effect the Chief Executive Officer of the Public Procurement Authority (PPA), Mr. AB Adjei

The case has subsequently been referred to the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), and those relating to potential acts of corruption to the Office of Special Prosecuter, for their prompt action.

The President has also notified the Chairperson of the Board of the PPA to ensure that Mr ABC Adjei hands over his office expeditiously to Mr. Frank Mante, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the PPA.

Even though Manasseh Awuni Azure has recieved a lot of praises from the public on his latest exposé, not everyone is enthused.

One person whose tail Manasseh seems to have stepped on is Kennedy Agyapong, the Assin Central legislator.

In a characteristic fashion, the loud mouth politician has declared war on the journalist and vowed to expose him.

Speaking on Boiling Point on Oman FM on Thursday evening, the unrestrained Kennedy Agyapong revealed that he has a video showing Manasseh taking bribe from the former PPA boss.

He vowed to show the video to Ghanaians this weekend to show how corrupt the journalist is.

“I have a full picture and video of Manasseh taking one thousand cedis bribe from the procurement Authority boss last Saturday. I will show it to Ghanaians this weekend.”

This is not the first time, Mr Kennedy Agyapong has threatened to expose a journalist over his work.

Following the release of the Number 12 investigative piece by ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas in 2018, the MP went on a warpath and threatened to expose Anas and his team.

He showed alleged pictures of Anas and some of his team members on tv and premiered his “Who watches the watchman” video.

Months later, one member of the Tiger Eye PI team, Ahmed Suale was shot and killed in a Rambo style by some unidentified gunmen.
