A Ghanaian footballer plying his trade in South Africa has been shot in the legs by the South African Police.

The footballer, Arthur was rushed to the hospital  by the Ghana High Commissioner to South Africa, H. E. George Ayisi Boateng.

Mr Arthur who has been playing football in South Africa for the past 2 years was shot in his two legs at a close range by the South African Police in Kempton Park.

The mission upon hearing the sad news quickly rushed him to the Grenclof Hospital in Pretoria.

The mission has also lodged an official complaint with the appropriate authorities to ensure that the culprits are brought to book.

It is still unclear whether the attack is linked to the xenophobic attacks in South Africa.

He is currently responding to treatment.
