Scores of parents and their children have been trooping to the Black Star Square to lodge complaints of challenges they are facing with the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS)
Some of the complaints have to do with no placement of school, change of school due to distance from home and other personal reasons.
Other concerns relate to students’ inability to be placed in their prefered schools despite obtaining good grades.
Already, a female Junior High School (JHS) graduate on Monday morning collapsed at the Independence Square, Accra after long hours in a queue to change her Senior High School (SHS) school placement.
But the Education Minister, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh has downplayed the challenges and accused former President John Dramani Mahama of being behind the seeming problems.
According to him, the flagbearer of the NDC is scheming to give the NPP government a bad name.
Speaking on the confusion that has rocked the Computerised School Placement System, the Education Minister revealed that Mr Mahama is busing people to the Independence Square.
Responding to questions on the problems that have bedevilled this year’s placement on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen, he told host Osei Bonsu that the number of people who have amassed at the Independence Square is a charade.
“I can tell you for sure that it was John Mahama who bused people to come and create confusion to give the government bad name.”
