Video: Asiedu Nketia Schools Journalist On Meaning Of Words During Interview

Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia is undoubtedly one of the most difficult politicians to interview in the country due to his craftiness and years of experience in political terrain.

The Chief scribe of the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC), has gained notoriety for his mastery in giving journalists tough times during interviews.

With smiles always on his face during interviews, the cheeky speaking Johnson Asiedu Nketia has developed the style of “answering questions with questions”.

Described by political watchers as a shrewd fellow, Asiedu Nketia has a way of slipping through the hands of experienced journalists during interviews.

The “General” as he is affectionately called can never be cornered as you will definitely have a taste of his dose.

The latest victim to taste a dose of the “General’s medicine” is the Head of JoyNews’ Political Desk and host of PM Express, Evans Mensah.

Evans Mensah noted for his tough questions was given some tutorials in the English Language during an interview.

Evans wanted to know if former president John Dramani Mahama, has plans to scrap the Free SHS programme if he comes to power as being speculated by the ruling NPP government.

But responding to the issue, the General Secretary asked the PM Express host if he knew the meaning of the word “review”.

Framing his question after stating what Akufo-Addo said in Bolgatanga over the policy, Evans Mensah said “you’ve said your leader says he will review Free SHS. What does that mean?”

But Asiedu Nketia responded characteristically saying, “Ah so you went to school and you understand review to mean cancelling? No no I’m asking you, so you think review means cancelling?… Review means looking at the thing, finding out what is wrong with it and changing what is wrong to make it right.”
