Former President and flag bearer of the NDC, John Dramani Mahama has been captured on video busily weeding.

The former first gentlemen despite his busy schedules took some time off to clear the median of the bushy roads at the Military Cemetery, Airport Hills on Saturday morning.

Mr Mahama’s government during his tenure introduced the National Sanitation Day instituted  to deal with Ghana’s poor sanitation problems.

First Saturday of every month is earmarked for the National Sanitation Day across Ghana.

It was first declared on November 1, 2014 by the Government of Ghana in response to the 2014 Ghanaian cholera outbreak.

The day is a voluntary clean-up exercise for all Ghanaian residents in an effort to reduce unsanitary conditions that breed diseases and causes injuries.

Citizens in the various suburbs of the country’s cities, towns and villages, desilted gutters and swept the streets.
