NPP Opens Nominations; Presidential Aspirants To Cough Up 200K As Filing Fee

Persons wishing to contest as presidential candidates on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will be required to cough an amount of GH¢200,000 as filing fees.

This was contained in a statement released by the party today.

According to the statement, prospective flagbearer aspirants will pay a non-refundable application fee of GH¢20,000.00 for nomination forms when nominations open on January 20.

General Secretary of the party, John Boadu, revealed that the presidential nomination forms would be available for purchase in his office.

He revealed that a presidential vetting committee will be put in place to scrutinise the eligibility of every aspirant.

“a Presidential Vetting Committee shall be established to examine and vet the candidature of every aspirant for the presidential nomination of the party to ensure that such a person qualifies to contest for the office of the President of the Republic.”
