Photos: SHS Teachers Undergoing Training Complain Of Poor Treatment

Senior High School Teachers in the country undergoing a four day workshop in the Bono region have complained of ill treatment.

The workshop is organised for all Form 3 teachers teaching the four core subjects, English, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies at different centres in the country.

The workshop is to discuss ways of improving the performance of students in the Core Subjects. 

The over two thousand teachers from the Bono and Ashanti regions and are having their training at the Catholic University and the University of Energy and Natural Resources(UENR) respectively say organisers have not treated them well.

According to the teachers, they were informed verbally to report to the workshop on Sunday 12th January, 2020 and start the training following day but they got there stranded.

Some of the teachers who spoke to this portal on condition anonymity reveal that some of them were asked to pass the night in a kitchen.

They reveal that on many occasions their meals were served as late as 9:00pm something they describe as very unfortunate.

Attempts to speak to GES officials or organisers of the programme at the time of filing this report were unsuccessful.
