Boxer Patrick Allotey Given 6-Months Suspension

Former World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Africa super lightweight champion, Patrick Allotey has been given a six-month suspension by the Ghana Boxing Authority.

The suspension which follows a hearing between the Ghana Boxing Authority and the boxer takes effect from February 4, 2020.

A statement by the Ghana Boxing Football reads: “We refer to the Disciplinary proceedings by the Ghana Authority(GBA) yesterday 5th day of February 2020 into the charges of misconduct levelled against you in the wake of the Accra Sports Stadium incident”.

The statement continues that ” Following the hearing the GBA found you liable on your plea and has imposed a six(6) month suspension of your professional boxing license as the appropriate sanction. The suspension takes effect from today the 6th day of February 2020″.

Patrick Allotey was captured on a video brutally assaulting a fan of Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The unfortunate incident happened during the match between Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak.
