There is drama in the National Democratic Congress(NDC) in the Effutu Constituency in the Central Region as there is a power struggle over the party’s parliamentary candidature.

The struggle is between the NDC’ elected parliamentary candidate, Victor Yankson and pro-NPP James Kofi Annan, who has declared his intention to contest as an independent candidate.

The power struggle aimed at torpedoing the party’s elected parliamentary candidate has led to two different demonstrations in the past two weeks in Winneba.

The first demonstration was stagged calling on the party’s candidate, Victor Yankson to vacate his post as the torchbearer of the NDC for the independent candidate, James Kofi Annan to lead the party

But another group also stagged a counter-demonstration, where party faithfuls warned Kofi Annan to stop his disruptive tendencies by staying far away from their party since the NDC has a candidate.

Strangely, residents woke up on Saturday, 9th February 2020 to witness more drama as posters of James Kofi Annan’s in NDC colours with candidate Mahama have been scattered all over the place.
