Names of some government appointees have been listed as beneficiaries of GETFund scholarships raising a lot of diverse opinions in the media.
Although the GETFund scholarships are reserved for needy but brilliant students, some Ministers and other government appointees benefited from the scheme.
The names include Education Minister Matthew Opoku-Prempeh, Procurement Minister and Deputy Majority Leader in Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo as well as the Executive Secretary of the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA), Prince Hamidu Armah.
GhanaXtra.com has also seen on the list names of 30 university lecturers who have also benefitted from the scheme.
The names include Justice Kwaku Srem-Sai, John Gartchie Gatsi, Cynthia Amaning Qanquah and Ernest Barfo Boadi Gyebi and 26 others who were awarded scholarships to pursue various PHD and Mphil programmes.
