Mahama “Begged” Me To Join NDC Because He Said “I’M Too Smart”

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Bernard Antwi Boasiako has made a shocking revelation that will surely generate some serious argument in the political circles.

Wontumi as the Chairman is affectionately called has revealed that former President John Dramani Mahama wanted him to join the NDC in 2013.

According to him, Mr Mahama told him back then that he is “too smart” and wanted him to join the umbrella fraternity.

He revealed that he received a call asking him to meet Mr Mahama who was then the President but unfortunately he was in the Western region so he could not make it.

He continued that the said meeting eventually came off at Tamale where the President was on a visit.

He avers by the time he got there all his company documents were in front of Mr Mahama as they had done all the background check and knew he had a lot of money.

“The time I reached there, all my company documents and everything was there(sic)…Young man, how did you get all this money? I have all your documents tell me the truth, Mahama asked me.” Chairman Wontumi revealed.

He revealed that after he took Mr Mahama through the source of his wealth, the president described him as “too intelligent” and “too smart” and begged him to join the NDC but he gracefully declined.

The said meeting per the narration of Chairman Wontumi took place in the presence of Peter Mahama, Alfred Mahama, Larry Gbevlo-Lartey and other bigwigs at the Residency of the Northern Regional Minister in Tamale.

Chairman Wontumi made the revelation when he appeared on the Good Evening show on Metro TV on Thursday.
