Nurses On Their Way For Routine IPV Immunization Attacked By Armed Robbers

Credible information reaching GhanaXtra.com is that some Community Health Nurses (CHNs) were on February 23, 2020, attacked by suspected armed robbers.

The suspected armed robbers threatened the Nurses and made away with their valuables such as bags, phones, money and other personal items. 

The attack happened when they were on their way to a church at Prampram in the Greater Accra region for the routine IPV Immunization exercise.

One of the nurses identified only as Irene reportedly fell from the motorbike and had injuries on her body in the process.

She was however treated at a nearby health facility and discharged.

This is the third attack on members of the nursing fraternity in recent times.

The first one involved the gruesome murder of a 37-year-old Ruth Ama Eshun by unknown assailants in the Ashanti region.

It was followed by another attack on a nursing student undertaking her clinical attachment at Abura Dunkwa Hospital in the Central region.
