More than 50 shops at the Techiman market in the Bono East region have been razed by fire.

Reports available to this portal indicate that the fire started from a nearby refuse dump which was set on fire by the traders after a clean-up exercise on Saturday, 29, 2020 February.

The fire started at the second-hand clothing section in the market and spread to other parts of the market.

Although fire personnel had a hectic time dealing with the fire, the situation was eventually brought under control.

No casualty has been reported.
