Serial Rapist & Robber Escapes From Police Custody In Sunyani

A 24-year-old alleged rapist, armed robber and murderer, Abdulai Karim, has escaped from police custody.

J.J as the suspect is popularly called escaped from the Sunyani District Police Cells where he was being held around 11:00 pm on Monday.

The suspect allegedly hit one of the police officers on duty with the cell gate and bolted.

Chief Inspector Augustine Kingsley Oppong, the Bono Regional Public Relations Officer, reveals that one of the inmates on Monday night requested for water from the police officers on duty.

But whilst the officer was attending to the request and Abdulai Karim hit the officer with the gate and escaped from custody.

Meanwhile, the command has given the officers on duty a ten-day ultimatum to produce the suspect.

Anybody with information on the whereabouts of the suspect should relay the information to 0242325357.

The 24-year-old alleged rapist, armed robber and murderer was reportedly busted at an undisclosed hideout on February 23, 2020.

A statement released by the Bono regional police command said, in 2019 alone, the suspect was alleged to have raped about eleven women in Sunyani and its suburbs.

He was arraigned before the court on February 26, 2020, and was remanded into police custody.
