Details are emerging that some Ghanaians officials might be at risk as they came into contact with the Norwegian Ambassador to Ghana H.E Gunnar Andreas Holm.

The Norwegian Diplomat, Gunnar Andreas Holm has tested positive for the deadly coronavirus Covid-19 in Ghana raising some fears among some Ghanaians.

Gunnar Andreas Holm per reports was in Norway to help in the planning of President Akufo-Addo’s visit to Norway about two weeks ago and he at every point of the visit in touch with the Ghanaian delegation.

President Akufo-Addo as part of a 12-day working visit travelled to Oslo, Norway, to pay an official visit, at the invitation of Prime Minister Erna Solberg.

The revelation has heightened the fears that members of the delegation could be at risk as far as the deadly coronavirus is concerned.

Though the number of people who accompanied the president on the trip is unclear, an official statement from the presidency ahead of the trip shows that the number of people at risk could be high.

“The President was accompanied by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchway, MP; Minister for Education, Hon. Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, MP; and officials of the Presidency and Foreign Ministry”.

Investigations by this portal also reveal that Ghana’s Ambassador to Norway, H.E. Mrs Jennifer Lartey, Deputy Chief of Staff, Abu Jinapor, Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin, the Executive Secretary to the President, Nana Asante Bediatuo and Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko had extensive engagements with the Norwegian Ambassador.

The Ministry of Health yesterday confirmed that Ghana has recorded its first  two cases of Coronavirus COVID-19

The statement revealed that the two cases were confirmed following laboratory results from the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research.

Even though the identities of both individuals were not revealed, media reports later identified one of them to be H.E Gunnar Andreas Holm.
