Chelsea winger, Callum Hudson-Odoi has revealed that he has recovered from symptoms of Coronavirus COVID-19.
In a statement on Thursday night, Chelsea confirmed that the English footballer of Ghanaian parentage had been struck down by the virus earlier this week and had gone into self-isolation in line UK government health guidelines.
“Callum displayed symptoms similar to a mild cold on Monday morning and has not been at the training ground since then as a precaution.
“However, his test came in positive this evening and he will undergo a period of self-isolation. Despite testing positive for the virus, Callum is doing well and looking forward to returning to the training ground as soon as it is possible.”
But the 19-year-old sent a message to his fans via twitter indicating he has recovered from the deadly infection that has reached pandemic levels after killing thousands across the globe.
“Hi guys, as you may be aware I had the virus for the last couple of days, which I’ve recovered from,” Hudson-Odoi began.
“I’m following the health guidelines and self-isolating for the week. I hope to see everybody soon and hopefully be back on the pitch very soon. Take care.”
Chelsea responded to Odoi’s situation by partially closing their training facilities and is considering calling off Saturday’s Premier League fixture with Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge.
