VIDEO: Medical Doctor begs Shatta Wale & Stonebwoy to plead for Akufo-Addo to order mass coronavirus testing for all Ghanaians

The doctor wants every Ghanaian tested for coronavirus

A medical doctor is begging president Akufo-Addo to urgently commission an exercise to get all Ghanaians tested for COVID-19.

According to him, the nation is making a very big mistake in the fight against the deadly virus which has infected 24 people so far and claimed one life.

In a viral video shared by actress Salma Mumin, the unidentified medical practitioner is seen in his theatre apparel begging Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Kelvynbwoy, Kwame Eugene, Kwesi Arthur and Fameye to pass on his message to the President, the Chief Imam and the Christian Council.

He said, the current approach where only patients with symptoms are tested is not a good one since there may be many others carrying the virus but not showing any symptoms yet.

According to him, this was the same mistake China, Italy and Iran made and are now overwhelmed by the pandemic, and therefore if Ghanaian authorities don’t realize it and change their approach, things could soon get out of hand.

He pleaded with the president to use the strategy of the South Koreans by employing more of the unemployed health workers to do mass testing of every Ghanaian citizen.

The doctor also wants Ghana to forget about the $100 million expected from the WHO and mobilize its own resources to test more people and fight the pandemic, since there are breakthrough treatment regimes already doing the work.
