The partial lockdown that was placed on Greater Accra and Greater Kumasi has been lifted, President Akufo-Addo has announced.
The lifting of the ban takes effect from Monday, 20th April after three weeks.
President Akufo-Addo lifted the ban when he addressed the nation on efforts to combat the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic
Speaking on Sunday evening, the President said: “In view of the ability of our ability to undertake aggressive contact tracing of infected persons, the enhancement of our capacity to tests the expansion in the numbers of our treatment and isolation centres…”
The president, however, maintained a ban on public gatherings and the closure of the country’s borders.
