The Techiman Metropolitan Assembly has set in place measures to ensure strict adherence to the social distance protocol.
The new measures which are aimed at dealing with crowding at one of the busiest market venues have the Assembly making markings on the ground to ensure that traders observe social distancing.
The Assembly will also be forcing residents to strictly use face masks.
The Municipal Chief Executive of the Techiman Municipal Assembly, Honourable John Donyina who is satisfied with the new arrangements has revealed that the market will be opened to the public as planned.
The Techiman Municipal Assembly last week announced a temporary shutdown of the Techiman Main Market.
The total closure of the market according to authorities was for a period of one week, that is, from Wednesday, April 22 to April 29.
The closure formed part of plans by the Assembly to put in place proactive measures to deal with a possible outbreak at the market as a result of a lot of traders visiting the market from Accra and Kumasi.
