Ghana records 281 more COVID-19 cases; National tally now 5,408

Ghana’s COVID-19 cases hit 5,408

Ghana’s coronavirus case count has risen to 5,408 following the confirmation of 281 more cases by the Ghana Health Service.

An update on the Service’s COVID-19 website noted that twenty more patients have recovered increasing the number of recoveries to 514.

There have been two more casualties since the last update on Tuesday May 12, sending the country’s coronavirus-related death toll to 24.

With thirteen regions invaded by the virus, the Greater Accra region continues to be Ghana’s number one hotspot with 4,147 confirmed cases, followed by the Ashanti region with 726.

  3. Central Region – 192

  8. Upper East Region – 26
  9. Oti Region – 24
  10. Upper West Region – 21
  11. Northern Region – 19
  12. North East Region – 2
  13. Bono Region – 1

  15. Ahafo Region – 0
