Ghana reports 550 new COVID-19 cases; nationwide tally now 2,719

The Ghana Health Service has reported five hundred and fifty new cases of coronavirus, pushing the national tally to 2,719.

The new figures carried in an update released on its COVID-19 website Monday evening indicated no fatalities have been recorded as at the last update on Saturday May 2, 2020.

Total number of recoveries now sit at 294 after some sixty-five patients were confirmed to have recovered from the ravaging.

Four regions, the Bono, Bono East, Ahafo and Savannah are yet to record cases, while the Greater Accra leads with 2,332 cases.

Below is the regional breakdown of confirmed COVID-19 cases.

  2. Ashanti Region – 124
  3. Eastern Region – 94
  4. Central Region – 38
  5. Volta Region – 30
  6. Oti Region – 23
  7. Western Region – 21
  8. Upper West Region – 19
  9. Upper East Region – 19
  10. Northern Region – 13
  11. Western North Region – 4
  12. North East Region – 2
  13. Savannah Region – 0
  14. Bono Region – 0
  15. Ahafo Region – 0
  16. Bono East Region – 0
