Obinim granted GhC100k bail but remains in police cells as he struggles to meet conditions

Bishop Daniel Obinim is still in police grips after being granted bail by a court in Accra on Tuesday.

Head of Public Affairs of the CID, DSP Juliana Obeng has confirmed that the controversial Bishop will remain in detention as he works to meet all the bail conditions announced in Tuesday’s press statement by the police.

Bishop Obinim was processed for court following his arrest on Tuesday and granted a one hundred thousand cedis bail by the Accra Magistrate court which asked for three sureties, with one to be justified.

The police said in a statement yesterday that the preacher was picked up and charged for publication of false news, forgery of document, among others.

They did not disclose who the complainant was except to add that the founder of the International Godsway Church is also being investigated for other offences leveled against him.
