President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo has confirmed media reports that the Health Minister, Kwaku Agyeman-Manu has tested positive for COVID-19.
Speaking during the 11th address to the nation on measures taken against the spread of Coronavirus, the president revealed that Mr. Agyeman-Manu contracted the virus in the line of duty.
He revealed that the Minister is in stable condition and urged Ghanaians to remember him in prayers.
“Let us also wish our hardworking Minister for Health, Hon. Kwaku Agyeman Manu, MP for Dormaa Central, a speedy recovery from the virus, which he contracted in the line of duty, and is a stable condition”.
Media reports were rife yesterday that the Health Minister, Kwaku Agyeman Manu has tested positive for COVID-19.
The reports will hours later be denied after Afia Pokua indicated that the Minister has denied testing positive for the virus.
Afia Pokua revealed that the Minister had revealed to her in a phone conversation that he is only taking his medication and needed some rest.
“Spoke to the minister of health. He says he’s fine and doesn’t have COVID but only needed rest and his usual medication”.
