648 people have been quarantined at the Accra Girls Senior High School (SHS) following exposure to COVID-19.
The decision for contact tracing and subsequent quarantine comes after six students tested for the novel Coronavirus.
Speaking on Tuesday, July 7, the Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Pre-Tertiary, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum confirmed that the school has identified and isolated 648 contacts.
He revealed that the Ghana Education Service and the Ghana Health Service have put in place measures to deal with the situation and called on anxious parents to remain calm.
Dr. Adutwum said a team of 200 persons from the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has been deployed to handle all health issues.
