Transport fares in the country have been increased by 15 percent, the transport Ministry has announced.
The decision to increase the fares which takes effect from Saturday, July 11, 2020, was as a result of a petition by the various transport unions.
According to the Deputy Transport Minister, Mr. Titus Glover, government took the decision bearing in mind the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic on drivers.
“We have all agreed that indeed the drivers have helped in observing the Covid-19 protocols. It is for this reason that we have agreed to increase the fares.
