Just In: Sorcerer In Kafaba Lynching Incident Arrested At Yeji

The Sorcerer at the centre of the Kafaba lynching incident has been arrested by the police, GhanaXtra.Com has learnt.

The 40-year-old sorcerer, Sherina Mohammed alias Alhajia, who is alleged to be the mastermind of the lynching of the 90-year-old Madam Akua Denteh was arrested in Yeji in the Bono East region.

According to the Ghana Police Service, she was arrested at her hideout in Yeji last night following a tip-off by an informant.

The suspect is currently in the custody of the Salaga police but efforts are underway to have her transferred to Damongo.

Madam Akua Denteh believed to be in her 90’s was lynched for allegedly being a witch in Kafaba in the East Gonja Municipality of the Savannah region.

The ordeal of the poor old woman follows allegations by a soothsayer that the old lady was a witch.

Her death sparked wider condemnation on social and mainstream media over such brutalities which are very prevalent in the Northern parts of the country.
