Meet The Man Who Invented “Banku Ta” & “Ceiling Brush”

If you want to give a fine texture to your Banku, Rice Ball or Tuo Zaafi, the wooden spatula comes in handy.

Popularly called “Banku ta” in the Twi language, it is used in many homes in different communities for different purposes.

But who invented the “Banku ta”?

It has emerged that it was invented by a 90-year-old Opanin Paul Kingsley Asamoah from Kona in the Ashanti region in 1944.

He is also credited with the invention of the ceiling brush 1986.

Meanwhile, Opanin Paul Kingsley Asamoah is scheduled to be honoured and celebrated by the Chiefs and people of Kona on Sunday, September 6, 2020.
