It has emerged that Government has suspended the Agyapa royalties deal following series of public outcry.
The suspension was revealed by the Technical Manager for the Public Interest and the Accountability Committee (PIAC) Mr. Mark Agyemang.
Mr. Mark Agyemang revealed that the deal has been temporarily suspended to allow for broader consultations to take place.
Speaking on Accra based Starr News, he revealed that the move is to help address concerns raised by several Civil Society Organisations regarding the deal.
He, however, avered that the deal will be implemented after more deliberations have been done.
The Agyapa Royalty deal came under serious scrutiny from a section of Ghanaians and Civil Society Organisations.
They questioned the credibility of the agreement and called for an immediate withdrawal of the deal.
