Former Citi FM’s Correspondent Busted For Possessing Narcotics

A former broadcast journalist with Accra based Citi FM, Augustus Akwasi Koranteng, has been busted for allegedly possessing narcotics.

Akwasi Koranteng who served as the Central Regional Correspondent for Citi FM until 2017 when his appointment was terminated was arrested by the police Agona Swedru in the Central Region.

The suspect was arrested following months of police intelligence about his activities in the area.

Police report indicates that he was arrested with 28 balls of plant materials, 7 sachets containing dried plant material, 5 and a half compressed slaps of dried plant material all suspected to be Indian hemp.

He has been arraigned before the Swedru circuit Court and granted bail in the sum of GH¢ 50,000 with two sureties, one to be justified.

He has also been ordered to deposit his passport at the court registry until the final determination of the case.
