Club Beer Becomes “Precious Commodity” As Shortage Hits Upper West Region

There is a shortage of Club beer in the Upper region forcing consumers to buy at high prices.

A bottle of beer that was sold at GH¢5 is now being sold at GH¢7 because of the shortage that has hit many parts of the region.

According to bar operators and consumers, beer has now become a precious commodity as people have to go through hell to purchase some for pleasure and business.

Reports indicate that the situation which started in the first week of December has exacerbated forcing traders to join long queues at various depots for the alcoholic beverage.

Some restaurant, hotel, and bar operators reveal that the situation in the midst of the Christmas festivities has affected their sales.
