The lady at the centre of the alleged corruption footage of President Akufo-Addo, Hajia Fawzia Karim has opened up on what actually transpired.
According to Hajia Fawzia Karim, the video was recorded in 2016 prior to the elections and not recently as has been speculated.
She disclosed on Accra based Asaase radio that they had visited the then-candidate Akufo-Addo to donate 1000 t-shirts and GH¢40,000 towards his campaign.
Hajia Fawzia, however, revealed that the video has been doctored for political expediency and urged the public to ignore those spreading lies that the president took the money whilst in office.
“It was before the 2016 elections. I had about 1000 t-shirts which had the pictures of the then-presidential candidate and his vice and added an amount of GH¢40,000 to support Nana. I went there as a party supporter,” she said while expressing shock at the turn out of events.
President Akufo-Addo’s incorruptible tag has come under series of attack after the Salis Newspaper released a video of the president allegedly taking bribe.
The issue has also been taken over by the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) who say the video was recorded recently.
The NDC argues that the president is not clean when it comes to corruption as he wants the public to believe.
