A former midfielder of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Sulley Muniru has been placed on INTERPOL red alert.
The red alert has been issued by the INTERPOL in Nouakchott, Mauritania following for allegedly engaging in football match-fixing.
Based on the alert, a report sighted on SportsworldGhana.com indicates that the player is therefore wanted by the Accra branch of INTERPOL.
An INTERPOL letter addressed to the Controller General of the Ghana Immigration Service(GIS), reveals that Muniru is under investigation for alleged football match-fixing.
The letter is therefore seeking to know whether he was in Ghana between the period of October and November 2020.
Sulley Muniru who is now a free agent played in Kotoko’s 1-1 draw against Mauritanian outfit FC Nouadibou in the first leg of their CAF Champions League.
