Police Bans Valentine’s Day Celebration In Bolgatanga

The Police in the Bolgatanga Municipality of the Upper East region has banned the celebration of this year’s Valentine’s Day in the region in grand style.

A statement released by the Bolgatanga Divisional Police Command has warned pub owners wishing to celebrate the day to be mindful of the executive order limiting the number at such events to only 25 people.

The statement copied to the Managers and Pub owners in the region has warned that anybody caught flouting the executive order will be dealt with.

“Information reaching Police indicates that most spots/pubs in the Bolgatanga municipality intend to celebrate the Valentine’s Day celebration in grand style which is likely to attract greater number contrary to Executive Order of the President in view of COVID-19, limiting the number of persons to 25 for funeral and other occasions”.

Valentine’s Day also called Saint Valentine’s Day or the Feast of Saint Valentine is celebrated annually on February 14.

It is celebrated to mark love and affection.
