Speaker Shuts Down Parliament For 3 Weeks Over COVID-19

The Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin has shutdown parliament for three weeks.

The temporary shutdown of the house follows the number of COVID-19 positive cases in the house.

Reports indicate that at least 17 Members of Parliament and over 150 staff have tested positive for the virus.

The House is expected to resume on March 2, 2021, for business.

The Appointments Committee will however sit tomorrow to vet ministerial nominees.
