Lead counsel of the petitioner in the ongoing election petition hearing, Mr. Tsatsu Tsikata has resorted to a bible quotation to compel the Supreme Court to reconsider its ruling last week.

Addressing the nine justices of the Supreme Court, Mr. Tsatsu Tsikata quoted Hosea 8:7 which says: “For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no stalk: the bud shall yield no meal: if so be it yield, the strangers shall swallow it up.”

He ended his address by saying “May each of the lordships decide based on your conscience and your judicial oath.”

Seven justices of the Supreme Court on February 16, 2021, unanimously dismissed an application by John Dramani Mahama to re-open his case in order to subpoena the Chair of the Electoral Commission.

The petitioner wanted the First Respondent to testify in court as a “hostile witness” but the case was dismissed forcing the petitioner to file for a review.
