Police On Manhunt For 7 Convicted Jail Breakers In Sandema

The Police in Sandema in the Builsa North District of the Upper East Region has launched a manhunt for seven prisoners who escaped from police custody.

The jailbreak occurred on April 10, 2021, around 10:15 pm.

According to an official communique from the police, the convicts who were awaiting transfer to the Gambaga Prisons started “acting aggressively and apprehensive and started hitting the cell’s metal gate”.

The communique continues that the seven prisoners escaped by forcing the metal plate at the lower part of the gate to gain access to the corridor and forced the wooden door leading to the charge office open.

The escapees are Amondrn Azaari, Kwesi Achalipaabey, Albert Walera, Awenyok David, Moses Amoak, Kaseley Nab and Abaniakame Adocta.

Meanwhile, GhanaXtra.Com can report that one of the escapees has been apprehended by the police.

The convict was reportedly arrested at Kori a suburb of Sandema.
