The hierarchy of the Anglican Church has responded to a viral video of a Reverend Father kissing some female students.
A statement signed by the Venerable Dr George Dawson-Ahmoah, the Executive Director to the Metropolitan Archbishop of Ghana, indicates that the church is saddened by the conduct of Reverend Father Larbi who is also the lawyer to GES in the Ashanti Region.
According to the statement, the church has launched investigations into the matter and the priest will be dealt with in accordance with the norms and values of the Anglican Communion as the church revers morality.
The statement adds that efforts are underway to put the students concerned through counselling services to avert any form of psychological trauma the students might have passed through.
“The Church is saddened by the news and wish to state expressly that, a thorough investigation has immediately been instituted into the matter and the action of the said Priest would be dealt with in accordance with the norms and values of the Anglican Communion where morality is extremely revered in the Church”.
Meanwhile, a statement from some concerned students of the school has come to the defence of the embattled priest.
According to the students, the School Chaplain after church service on Sunday, August 15, 2021, honoured deserving students with certificates and sums of money.
“We stand to fight for justice and what is duly right. on the morning of our Sunday Service(15th August 2021), our School Chaplain honoured deserving students with certificates, sums of money and offered the kisses too”.
